Responsible for running initiation protocols, calibration protocols, bi/tri level-controls on various laboratory analyzers at scheduled time prior to running patient samples
Performs daily maintenance of machines and logging in the appropriate logs.
Carries duties in all general laboratory sections including biochemistry, hematology, clinical pathology, blood banking, and hormone units.
Reconstitutes reagents, loads them to the analyzers and maintains the log for date of opening of new reagents.
Checksthe stock and expiry dates of laboratory reagents.
Proper preparation of patient samples and running the test protocols.
Validates patient results, after applying the required checks
Verifies internal QC by checking Levey Jennings charts.
Runs external proficiency testing samples and shares in investigating causes for unaccepted results.
Prepares SOP for different laboratory processes.
Follows the bloodbank policy and required documentations for receiving and issuing blood and blood products
Prepares samples for shipment to outside laboratories for tests not performed locally.
Prepares different types of smears and wet mounts
Participates in the departmental and inter-disciplinaryactivities and CME programs.
Notifiesthe critical values to the medical staff and documented in special log sheet.
Records different environmental logs (temperature of fridges, freezers and laboratory temperature and humidity).
Responsible to provide patient and family-centered care.
